I went through some articles in knowledge base, but could not able to get the right solution. I created a separate class library project. Created a class CustomEditThread derived from Telerik.Forums.WebControls.SingleThread. In the website project, inside the sitefinity folder, created a folder "ExtendedControls". Added EditThread.ascx file and edited it to include a textbox that accepts the email. Also added an Asp.Net folder "App_LocalResources" and added a file EditThread.ascx.resx. Added suitable string resources that I am using in EditThread.ascx file. Also I overridden the property TemplateSourceDirectory to point to "~/sitefinity/ExtendedControls/ " in CustomEditThread class.

Now the question is how to add functionality to CustomEditThread class to save the email field into the database?

    Hi Nagendra Sathyamurthy,

You have to make control reference to the TexBox that is uses for getting the email address. Then you can use LINQ to SQL: .NET Language-Integrated Query for Relational Data to persist the data or another data layer like OpenAccess ORM

    Kind regards,
