    Hi rent,

Please refer to the following topic of the Developer Manual that demonstrates how to use the NewsManager class and manage news items: News API Walkthrough

Regarding your second question, you could either use the default News provider or create your own as it is described in our User Manual > Working with Modules > Customizing Modules > Adding Providers.

Do let us know if you need any further assistance.

    Sincerely yours,
    Pepi

    Hi rent,

The News module is already added to the Sitefinity installation. There is plenty of documentation about using the provided module:

If the provided examples are not sufficient in helping you to achieve the required functionality, we would need a detailed explanation of what exactly you want to achieve.

    Kind regards,

    Hello rent,

Telerik.News.dll and Telerik.News.Data.dll can be used only in Sitefinity CMS context. Third party projects that are not related to Sitefinity CMS are outside of our support scope.

    Hi rent,

You could add a new custom meta field to the News module as it is described in the following topic:
Add Custom Meta Fields. Note that the valueType of your meta field should be Boolean.
Also, you could find useful information on this matter in our User Manual > Customizing Modules > Adding Custom Meta Fields.

i notice you said they are outside of your support scope but are they outside of our licensing scope? I'd like to be able to call news data from non-sitefinity sites. I realize rss might be the best way but it would be great to call the managers directly.

    is this allowed?

    Hi SelArom,

This is excerpt from the License Agreement:

"2. DESCRIPTION OF OTHER RIGHTS AND LIMITATIONS : You are not allowed to use individually the software components comprising the SOFTWARE, but only as an integral part of the SOFTWARE."

So this is the answer to the question :)
