    RadControls version

    .NET version

    Visual Studio version

    I am developing a web site where Admins, customers, and agent will be able to see information regarding their activity on the system.

    I is much like a Checking Account web site, not that complex, where the customer sees only what is related to his account, but admins and supervisors have a broader view of the data stored.

    My question is, can I use Sitefinity to develop it, considering I have to capture information from  the logged in customer in order to identity and associate the transactions directed to a personal account to a certain user? Can I use the api to identity the logged in user and its id, including also its role on the system?

    Thanks a lot,

    sure thing.   Sitefinity membership is based off the Asp.Net membership.

    Get the user name by accessing the HTTPContext.

    string username = HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name;

    You can also see if the user is in a specific role

       if (!this.Context.User.IsInRole("Managers"))

    Hi Joao Araujo,

    Yes, you can use Sitefinity for this purpose. In addition to the previous reply, we are using the standard membership provider and create a RolePrincipal object whenever user logs in. You can play with this object and see what properties it has.

    Best wishes,
