    Hi,

I'm looking at Sitefinity as a candidate CMS for my company. I must say that this is the number one in the list :)

My primary interest is localization, and again the CMS does a good job for pages, and modules like Generic Content, News, etc...

Unfortunately I haven't found an out of the box solution to create localized Lists under the Module tab.

I was thinking of modifying the lists module such that the content of the list can be "shared content". i.e. I create a generic content object for each item in the list (which generic content is localizable). This kind of sounds redundant, but I would really like to harness the power of lists in a multilanguage mode.

Any suggestions / help will be kindly appreciated! :)

    Clyde.

    Hi Clyde,

Let me first thank you about your words and interest in Sitefinity!

The multilingual content functionality is not supported for a modules which are not generic content based. We have plans to rework the Lists module and the Forums module to become such. The only suggestion we could give you so far is to use the Generic Content module indeed.

The improvement of these module will be done in SItefinity 4.0, coming up shortly after Q1 2009. We have also plans to improve the Generic Content module - you would be able to create paired content items (just like in the Lists module).

Let us know if we could help you with something else.

    All the best,
    Georgi
