I am needing to edit some of the standard controls in Sitefinity so that i can change what is shown and not shown.

eg. When putting in a ContentView control, even though i have told it to not allow comments, it still has the '0 comments' trailing the content. Now, all i want to do is edit the html of this control so that i can delete/comment it out; just like it has been discribed halfway through this post.

However, i don't have access to such files. In my ~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/ directory there are the folders for the different types of templates, however, the only files within these folders are 'SocialBookmarkTemplate.xml' and thats it.

I don't have access to the ~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/Generic_Content/ContentItemViewList.ascx described that post.

    Screenshots below.

Is there something simple i am missing?

    Hello Louis Farrell,

Since Sitefinity 3.6 control templates for Sitefinity controls are embedded into our assemblies. If you wish to use external templates you should download the external templates for your version of Sitefinity from your account and map them, you can find more information on the procedure here.

    Best wishes,
