    Some of the RadControls listed on the Telerik website have been updated with new features that do not seem to exist in the prepackaged SiteFinity Standard addition...

    1) Is the accurate assessment?
    2) if so how can i update my SiteFinity project to use the latest version?
    3) Where can i download these RadControls package from
    4) Will i have full lisence rights to the controls if i do an update like this?

    Hi Duncan,

    Sitefinity is still not tested with the latest RadControls. Also, in Q3 2008 Telerik.Charting assembly is merged into Telerik.Web.UI and the entire suite is delivered within a single assembly. So you could experience problems with the proper functioning of the Polls module. That is the reason why we don't recommend upgrade your Sitefinity project. However, if you decide to do the upgrade, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Download the trial version of the RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX. Note that you don't need a license for the RadControls suite if you use it in Sitefinity.
    Delete the existing Telerik.Web.UI and Telerik.Charting assemblies from your project bin folder.
    3. Place the new version of the Telerik.Web.UI assembly.
    4. Open the application web.config file and in the <assemblyBinding> element, specify the binding redirection information for the new Telerik.Web.UI assembly:

        <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1"
          <probing privatePath="bin;sitefinity\admin\bin" />
              culture="neutral" />
              newVersion="2008.3.1125.20" />

    3. Find the following declaration in the web.config file:

    <add tagPrefix="telerik" namespace="Telerik.Charting" assembly="Telerik.Charting" />

    and then change the value of the assembly attribute like this:

    <add tagPrefix="telerik" namespace="Telerik.Charting" assembly="Telerik.Web.UI" />

    Hope you will find the provided information helpful.

    Sincerely yours,
    the Telerik team
