    Hi There,

    I've been wanting to customise the layout of the blog posts controls and after doing a bit of research I've managed to do it. However, it leaves me with a question.. What use does the following definition in the Controls/Telerik.Sitefinity.Configuration.ControlsConfig.xml file have?

        <viewSettings hostType="Telerik.Blogs.WebControls.BlogPosts"
          <additionalTemplates>
            <!--Provides user interface for displaying a list of posts in the BlogPosts control in the blogs module.-->
            <add key="ItemListTemplatePath" layoutTemplatePath="~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/Blogs/ContentViewItemList.ascx" />
            <!--Provides user interface for displaying a single post in the BlogPosts control in the blogs module.-->
            <add key="SingleItemTemplatePath" layoutTemplatePath="~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/Blogs/ContentViewSingleItem.ascx" />
          </additionalTemplates>
        </viewSettings>

    I ask this because the only way I could get any change in the the way the blog posts were displayed was to follow the instructions here on mapping ContentViewDesigners, changing the files in ~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/Blogs/ had no noticable effect. The second way works, although, it does leave me wondering if I've been doing something wrong as it seems to be a very messy way of doing something that should be fairly simple.

    Hello Matt,

    Use the way from the blog post you have found. The other templates are added for backward compatibility and they are used when you have not mapped the Control Designer. Once you have mapped the Control Designer you should use ListPageDetail and ListPageMaster templates.
