I am assuming that SiteFinity has a class that handles querystring...

Specifically i am looking for something that encodes and decodes a querystring. I have already built a class to do this but would like to make use of anything that SiteFintiy might have built in already.

    Hi Duncan,

    Thanks for your inquiry.

One of query string main disadvantages is passing info in plain text from page to page and as a result, query strings are not meant to pass sensitive information, such as credit card numbers, throughout an application. If you want to pass secure information, you'd be better off using session state and caching information on the database, since this would be the most secure. Sitefinity can cache data on the database as this article discusses and more info on implementing session state can be found reading this article.

Sitefinity does not have a specific class that handles query strings, but you could easily drop a RadGrid with a hyperlink that passes a query string if you'd like. If this does not fit your needs, can you send us the code for your class that encrypts query strings?

Feel free to contact us if you need further assistance.

    Greetings,

My apologies, maybe i was not very clear... I am not looking to encrypt the querystring and it is not sensitive data. I simple encode it so that it is a unreadable, url friendly series of letters...

The only reason i asked is cause i know SiteFinity has a URLhelper class and was wondering if there might be a class to handle querystrings and making them compliant...

But this is fine, i have a class that currently achieves this and will simply use it...
