    Good day to you all

I am looking for a best practis for skining a TabStrip.

I guess I could have the skin in each Theme, but then having multiple themes for layout purposes this would mean any changes would have to be done multiple times.

Probably also the CSS and Images would be loaded multiple times depending on chosen theme.

Q 1: So how would I go about to have it at one central place?

Q 2: Change something in Sitefinity/UserControls/Navigation35/Tabstrip.ascx - Would it not get overwritten on the next update

Q 3: if Q2 is the correct answer, can I map it to external Template as well?

    Regards Markus

    Hello Markus Berchtold,

Thank you for using our services.

Please start by taking a look at the best practice for RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX in Sitefinity. Then you can take a look at the following article to find about RadTabStrip CSS skin file selectors. Then provide the skin in each theme you want to use it. Site TabStrip is a RadTabStrip wrapped in a user control and bound to our site map.

If you make any changes to the files in ~/Sitefinity/Usercontrols/ make sure you back them up before upgrade as the patch overwrites those files. Then just merge yours and the ones in the patch.

The controls located in ~/Sitefinity/Usercontrols/ do not external templates.
