I thought I would design a control and put an asp contentplaceholder in it so I could edit the control in Sitefinity, but Sitefinity did not like what I did.  It said I can only put a contentplaceholder in a master page. :(

My goal is to create my own controls and skin them and have them editable in Sitefinity.  Is this possible?

    Hi Troy Lawrence,

You could create a class that inherits from SimpleControl. You could override LayoutTemplatePath to set your custom template. You could expose public properties that will be used for setting some css classes over div elements.
