    Hi all,

    I am using Sitefinity 3.1 SP2

In my page edit mode, I don't see the Standard ASP.NET controls :(  I need them to develop forms, buttons etc on my page. If I manually edit the page html and add <asp:textbox ... /> it does not interpret it.  Can someone suggest a way for me to add the standard asp.net controls to my toolbox or some other manual way for me to add them in (by copying some folders and adding to web.config file ? )

Secondly, I only see few of the RAD controls in my toolbox. Though I can see all dll's are added in the bin folder, the toolbox refuses to show me all of them. Can somebody suggest me how to show them all on my toolbox?

For information sake, I am using the sitefinity cms provided by my web hoster.

    Pls help -- -thanks

    Hi,

I wouldn't recommend that you add the controls you are looking for to the toolbox because once you add them to the page it probably won't give you the functionality you need.  What you need to do is using your favourite IDE create user controls which you can all all your favourite controls to.

    http://www.sitefinity.com/help/developer-manual/user-controls-creating.html

If you still do want to add a control you need to do it through your web.config file look for the section called    <toolboxControls> under there you will see examples of all the existing controls where you can add and remove others.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Sean,

Thanks for your response. But isn't it a pain to create user controls for all standard asp.net controls? I mean for using a label, radio buttons, textbox etc?

Or is there something which I am totally missing here. Thanks

    Hi Rochak,

I didn't mean add each control to its own usercontrol, I meant create a usercontrol with all the functionality it needs eg "Contact Form" Which has the combination of textboxes, radio buttons etc on it, that you want to use.

If you simply added the standard controls straight to the pages you will find that you won't be able to get the functionality you want from them like there is no "code behind" within sitefinity to hook in any events etc with.

    Cheers
    Sean
