    hi

I wish to create lots of tag in the documents section, and assign them to PDF documents

    i.e.
    PDF1 (tags: orange, red)
    PDF2 (tags: orange, green)
    PDF3 (tags: red)

I then want to be able to pull all these tags in the documents section into a drop down box on the front end,
    i.e.
    Orange
    Red
    Green

.....which ever tag i select from the drop down list, it would display all the PDF documents that have this tag.

i.e. if i select Orange, it will show PDF 1 and 2

    Is this possible?

    Hi Quade,

unfortunately this is not possible at the moment, since tags are applied on the library level, not the document level. We are planning to improve this in Sitefinity 4.0 our next major release, which will feature the new advanced Generic Content API with new implementations for categories and tags (the new API will be backward compatible).

I am sorry that I was not able to help you more at this moment. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

    Kind regards,
    Ivan
