    Hi,

    We love Sitefinity, but we are having trouble with the default html editor.  I've struggled with the RadEditor's html for years and even in the latest version (3.7 SP2) it spits out incorrect HTML and forces users to use the HTML view to fix problems.  For example, if you type 3 lines of text into IE7, you get good html (e.g.:
      <p>this is line one</p>
      <p>this is line tow</p>
      <p>this is line three</p>

    ).  But then if, using the Design View, you highlight the second row and change it to H2, you get this:
      <p>this is line one</p>
      <h2><p>this is line tow</p></h2
      <p>this is line three</p>

    This bad html, as you should not have a P inside an H2.  If you then highlight the second line again and change it to H3, you get:
      <p>this is line one</p>
      <h2><h3>this is line tow</h3></h2
      <p>this is line three</p>

    This is a problem, because the H3 is inside the H2, so it still displays as H2.  The only way to fix it is to go into the HTML view.  Most of my clients don't know enough to be able to see what's wrong, so they get frustrated and we end up having to fix it for them.  In Safari on Mac, you get something totally different (line one has no markup, lines 2 & 3 are in DIVs.  This is completely different, as styling for DIVs is totally different than for Ps.
      this is line one
      <div>this is line tow</div>
      <div>this is line three</div>

    Then, when you change the class, you get:
      this is line one
      <div></div
      <h2>
      <div>this is line tow</div>
      <div></div
      </h2>
      <div>this is line three</div>

    That being said, I'm wondering if it is possible to set Sitefinity to use a different editor and to scrap the RadEditor.  If so, how do we do it, exactly?

    Thanks,

    Ben

    Hello Ben Alexandra,

    I was not able to reproduce these problems with Q3 2009 of RadControls which are included in Sitefinity 3.7 SP2. You could give a try to Editor / Default Settings demo as well. However there is a way to replace the RadEditor control. For more information please take a look at Replace RadEditor with ASP TextBox

    Sincerely yours,
