    Hi,

I'm using sitefinity community edition (v3.6) for some month and I would like to know if i can use telerik controls in my custom controls to be integrated in sitefinity.

It was working in a test version in v3.6 but it stop working (compilation error, cannot find telerik assembly) with the new v3.6 sp2.

    Is this the intended behaviour?

    Thanks,

    Hi Yan St-Yves,

You can use each Telerik Rad control with Sitefinity. The error you are getting is most probably related to the version of Telerik.Web.UI you used to compile your dlls. Sitefinity 3.6 SP 2 uses Telerik.Web.UI version 2009.01.0410.35/ 2009.01.0410.20.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Hi Ivan,

Your answer told me that it is suppose to work in v3.6 SP2 as it was working with v3.6.

I found the error; it was a dll reference error. In case of someone running in the same problem, here is what I did and what I did wrong.

I just replaced all the dlls in the Bin directory (along with every other new files in SP2) and i got the error.

I use frequently telerik RadControls and I'm using the same dll replacement technique without any problems.

The compilation error is also there when i'm trying to use the telerik.Web.UI assembly in a normal page (ex. Default.aspx).

What i didn't do is remaking the reference to the new assembly. In the reference 'folder' of VS2008, the sp2 version was written but for some reason, VS wasn't able to see the new version during the compilation, because the reference wasn't updated manually.

Hope this can help someone else!

    Thanks,
