    Hi Team,

Sitifinity allow in this new version 3.6 use S3 to store libraries. That's right but what about personal files or confidential files in organisations?. The actual provider allow to everybody that are allowed role see the files, all files!. You are not implemented some storage by UserNames and allow to see or not. In past posts, your sugested to use custom providers and override GetContents() properties to make this. This is the good for Modules, but what about Libraries. How create or implement libraries for private Users?. How to allow Roles/Names to load and see our files and others users to see all from this or that Roles?. Could you propose one custom provider to manage this?.
(sorry spell check not working enough!)

i totally second this. instead of global libraries it would be great to give roles the ability to create libraries, and even personal ones, so that libraries from one role/dept can't view, edit, or delete libraries of others. in my opinion this is the only thing keeping me from using this instead of a file-based system...

We talk about this for a very long time, but the permissions per library are not implemented yet. There are a couple of reasons about that - the security roots are not implemented per content items, and the library is a content item.

You will be able to set permissions on the S3 provider though, because we have permissions per provided already implemented.

    Kind regards,

    Hello Michael,

yes the content level permissions will be available in Sitefinity 4.0. Actually, we'll provide even finer grained permissions in 4.0, but more info on this in due time.

    All the best,
