Error Creating Translation of Content Item - Sitefinity - General Discussions

I have a custom Content Type in which I am attempting to create translations of the "EN" version. I am getting the following error and uncertain why this is happening. We have other Content Items that we have translated with no problems, but just one specific item is not working. Any help or resolution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Jared,

I have had this before, but unfortunately I can't give you a decent solution for it. It happened randomly within different versions of Sitefinity. From version 6.0 and up I experienced not any issues yet.

Most of the time there already has been an AdditionalUrl defined on one of the pages, meaning that Sitefinity can't save the page if it has the same UrlName. Try to check if this is the case?
You can see the Additional Urls inside the Page Properties.

This is not a page we are creating a translation of. It is a Content Item. We have seen it before, but the issue is isolated to only certain items and not all items. We are running on version 5.4 4040.

Hi guys,

@ Jared
I have some difficulties to reproduce this problem on my test project. My suggestion is to try to delete the problematic item and to try to create it again. If you share some detailed information about your custom content type we will get a better picture of the problem.

You can also try to upgrade a copy of your project to version 6.0 and to inspect for this problem. This problem could be specific for version 5.4.

We cannot upgrade to 6.0 at this time. The effort and risk in doing this will be high. Here are the fields we are using in this Content Type:

Title: Short text
Content: Long text
ItemUrl: Short text
Category: Classification
CssClass: Short text
TabName: Short text
BackgroundImage: Media (images, videos, files)
DisplayOrder: Number

Hello Jared,

I have tried to create a module using the fields from your last post, but on my test project everything work as expected. I was able to translate my items without any problems. You can try to recreate this module and then to inspect if the problem still persist when using it.
