I'm new to Sitefinity and I am trying to get my head around how developing with it works. So, your guidance is greatly appreciated.

We have several content contributors adding content to the live website on a regular basis.

If I work on a local copy of the live website (for 2 weeks) on a new functionality that adds tables to the database, how do I add this new functionality and new database tables to the live website without overwriting the content contributors' work?

    Hi gregory,

I don't know exactly on what your new functionality contains, but if it is for creating your new tables on the live version, you could of course script the structure and data and execute it on the live database.

If you create custom modules, they would be initialized the first time, so it would install automatically.

This way, you don't have to overwrite existing data.
