Strangely today the home page of our website ( running Sitefinity 4.1 switched back to IIS7 home page.

All the pages still exist normally, this was the home page which is set on the backend.
I checked PagesConfig.config and it is configured correctly too.

On IIS, I deleted iistart.html and set Default.aspx on the top on the default documents list, still no solution yet.

Can you please provide me with any thoughts on this.

    Hi martani,

Can you make sure that the name of the home page set through Sitefinity is not the same as your IIS default document. This might misled the request.
