net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET Error - Sitefinity - General Discussions

In the last 24 hours we have had several sites that have run into the same issue when logging into the Dashboard. once they go to any other page in the dashboard the content area comes up blank. However, the front end of the site works fine.

Digging a little deeper we noticed that we get a "net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET" error on 2 of the Telerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axd files. See the attached file.

Has anyone seen this or have an idea of what could be causing it?

This issue seems to self corrected itself. We contacted the hosting company about the issue and while we were talking with them the sites started working again.

If anyone can shed some light on why this happened, we would appreciate it.

We are seeing this intermittently now as well...oddly only in chrome, and only inside the university network.

If I debug from home, works every time, come into the office, and it's every 2-3 reloads I see like static resources sitting at "Pending" (they then timeout), then the resulting failed resource is like cached locally at 0bytes so the page borks.

To get around it (on our login page) I had to make all the external scripts inline...so people could at least log in.

No idea what's going on...

Hi guys,

We have not encountered this error. I have found intermittent and various causes in Chrome and it is hard to tell what is causing it exactly:productforums.google.com/.../ and productforums.google.com/.../

We use raygun.io for error logging. I just went though and whenever we have "Telerik is undefined" that's usually this problem. In 99.9% of the cases it's with Chrome v33.X on literally any OS (Mavricks, win7, win8, android...)

So weird...

Thank you for tip. I know that a couple of the clients that reported it were using different browsers, (IE and FireFox). We tend to use Chrome here, so I will keep that in mind if I see it again.

The odd issue with this situation was it happened to all of the sites hosted by the same company. Any of the sites that we were hosting or are hosted by different companies were fine. So my initial thought is that it is related to something that changed on their servers, but then why would it suddenly start working without any changes to the sites or the servers.

Yes, this is a very weird situation...

We just installed Sitefinity 7.0.5100.0 in a staging environment behind the firewall, when logging in I get:

GET http://staging.ourdomain.com/Telerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axd?_TSM_HiddenField_=…2003d0b8%3ac128760b%3a88144a7a%3a1e771326%3ac8618e41%3a1a73651d%3a333f8d94 net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

Uncaught ReferenceError: Telerik is not defined

Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function

Hello,

Please, try the project on environment without a firewall. If everything works there, a very plausible cause is that the request for that resources is too long and the firewall truncates it.
