Search and Indexes menu disappeared

We previously had the 'Adminstration >> Search and Indexes' menu option, and it has disappeared.  I need to re-index, but have no menu option!

Hi,

Please navigate to the backend of your project, then Administration -> Modules & Services and deactivate, uninstall and install the Search module. Then check whether the page is visible under Administration.

Thanks Stefani, 

I was able to deactivate the module, but not uninstall.  I click that option, get the dialog box asking if I want to uninstall, but then module remains, in an inactive state. If I activate it, I still don't have the menu option.

Hi,

Could you please try to open the SystemConfig.config file and remove the version attribute from the Search module line. The line should look like this:

<add  name="Search" />

Save the changes, restart the application and run it again.

Thanks Stefani,

I made those changes, and the 'Search and Indexes' module now shows as Not Installed. Unfortunately, when I click the install option,  nothing seems to change - the module remains uninstalled.

Hi,

Could you please do the same steps and change the build version which is located in the first line of the SystemConfig.config file? The build number should be 5820 if you are running Sitefinity 8.1.5820. Change it to 5600, save the changes and run the project.
