Upgrading the Licence

I'm working on a site that was created using the Community licence.

It is going to out grow it very soon. How do I upgrade the licence (to Standard)?

Hi Stuart Hemming,

Once you purchase and register the standard license you can either download it from your Client.NET account manually and then replace the existing license in ~/App_Data/Sitefinity/ with the new one, or you can go to Administration -> Version & Licensing and select the Activate new license option.

I'm struggling with this.

I have a standard licence and I have registered the domain on it. I've tried to use the version and licencing option to upgrade from community to standard to activate the thing.

When I supply my account details and click on the "Activate Licence" button I'm told that "There is more than one licence available for this edition" and that I should "login to my account and download the licence file I want to use".

When Iog in and and go to the registered domain and click on the "show available keys" link I'm presented with a number of versions ranging from 4.0.1098 to 4.1.1395. I'm currently running under 4.1.1405, so now what do I do?

Should I just email sales@sitefinity.com as the dialog suggests?

Hi Stuart,

You can use the license file for the 4.1.1395 release to unlock 4.1.1405, since those are both minor releases of our major 4.1 release. In other words, the license file for 4.1.1395 will work for all minor editions (4.1.x) of the 4.1 release.

@Telerik

Out of curiosity - how do I get the 1405 build which you seem to support.

My acount download 1395, latest build 1426, older up to 1395 ?

Marcus,

1405 is the SP1 build.

@Stuart

1405 is a internal fix put on top of SP1

SP1 was and is to my know-ledge 1395 (see attachment) unless you get 1405 when you download 1395, which I did not try.

Sorry, just trawled through my mail and note that it was suggested, as an SP1 (1395) build user, that I upgrade to 1405 which was an internal build.
