I'm new to SiteFinity so I'm just trying to get a grasp on what people regard as the best practices for using it develop and maintain a site.

I've been asked to develop out company internet site using SiteFinity and was wondering how I should go about setting this up. The website is going to be hosted on one of our ISP's servers.

Am I correct in assuming that SiteFinity would be installed on this server and all edits etc would be carried out on this server? If this is the case how do you get around the issues with designing new templates or masterpages? (visual studio will not be installed on the host server) are these done locally then copied up to the relevant directory?

I don't want to have a logon button within my site so I was planning on just providing my administrative users with a direct link to the logon screen that would take them to the backend admin screens, does this sound ok?

Any advice anyone can offer would be appreciated.

    Hello martin,

You can upload the new files through FTP,  using Pages >> Templates section or/and Files section.
