    Hi I'm not getting any more responses on my previous thread so I'm starting a new one.

    In my previous thread I asked a simple question:
    Why, in the search results, are there no descriptions showing for pages, but they are showing for News and Blog items.

    To clarify, I'm referring to a short summary showing between the Title and the URL on the Search Results control. (See attached image)

    Telerik responded and said I had to create a new Custom ResultItem control, but failed to mention how to tell Sitefinity to use that custom result item instead of the default one. I can't seem to find any reference to it in the web.config.

    Does anyone know how this is done?

    Hi J.Hoventer,

    1. Pages and content items use different index providers.
    2. Content providers work with dynamic fileds - metakeys, since pages uses head metatags
    3. You should register the CustomSearchResult in your web.config and drop the custom control directly on a page

    <add name="CustomSearchControl" section="Search" type="CustomSearchResult , App_Code"/>

    The default control cannot be removed, because it is added internally by Search service and Search module.
