Could someone tell me the significance of using a CC2:FieldLabel rather than a plain asp:label?

    Hello Rick,

The control is used when you want to associate one control - say TextBox with a label with minimum efforts. FieldLabel has a TargetID property which value should be the same as the associated control ID

    <cc2:FieldLabel ID="lblEmail" runat="server" Text="Email *" TargetID="Email"></cc2:FieldLabel>
    <asp:TextBox ID="Email" runat="server"></asp:TextBox>

You can easily assign the label to multiple targets using again TargetID property (TargetID="FirstName:LastName").

    Best wishes,
    Ivan Dimitrov
