    We just went live with a Sitefinity site. We have a customer service department responsible for setting user passwords to a specific value so that the passwords are consistent with other back end system logins. I know that it's not possible to set a password from within CMS backend, but is it possible to create a user control that does something like the following:

    Call a function to retrieve user membership info based on login or some other criteria
    Generate new random password for the user
    Call a change user function to set the password to a specific value

    Thanks,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

    There is an ASP.NET general way that you can use

    sample

    var ch = Membership.Provider.ChangePassword("admin", "admin", "admin@2");
