Are there plans to extend social networking in version 3.x or 4.x of Sitefinity?
I get the impression that Telerik is starting to look at this aspect of the CMS but could you confirm whether this is true and what plans there are for this?

I have a client who wants to extend their website with complex social networking features so I'm faced with either developing this myself or integrating with a third party system such as Elgg.
I would prefer to keep everything under one framework but the client in question is coming from a Joomla system which supports social networking so while the client agrees that Sitefinity is head and shoulders above Joomla as a CMS and loves the new content managed site I've presented to them they are missing the social networking side.

If I do develop social networking myself then I'd prefer to do it in a way that would fit with Telerik's own plans for social networking rather than go off on a tangent myself.

    Hello Darren,

We have plans for introducing more advancedfeatures than social bookmarks. However, we have not yet reached thepoint when we are sure when it will be released in the public. Our roughestimation is that we will start working on that in one of the releasesfollowing 4.0.
