    Can you run the standard edition and the community edition on the same PC, running Vista.

    Hi Tom,

    There is no problem to run standard and community edition on the same PC, but there is a problem to install them both on the same machine, because they are trying to set the same virtual directories in the IIS (i.e. [Default Web Site]/telerik/Sitefinity3.0). The workaround is:
    • install the first edition;
    • move all installed files to a different location and create virtual directories for Sitefinity3.0\ProjectManager and Sitefinity3.0\TIUSite;
    • uninstall the first edition and ensure that all files and folders except WebSites folder are deleted from the installation directory;
    • install the second edition.
    As for installing Sitefinity on Vista, you should not have any problems. Here are the points you should consider:

     Please let us know if you experience any difficulties.

    hi,

    i just want to point out that this issue hasn't been addressed in the sp1 update.

    is there a plan to have this handled better in future installers or should we be resigned to use this work around for the foreseeable future?

    Hello Josef,

    Thank you for the reminder.
    We plan to make many improvements on Sitefinity installation and this feature is also included.
    These improvements are planned for Sitefinity 3.1 or the next release.

    Greetings,
    Vlad
