I don't think I'm ever going to get enough time to just cut over the whole website at once. We are redoing our site a section at a time anyway. So I was considering bringing up the new sections in Sitefinity 5.x and then pointing back to the rest of the site still running on 3.7 sp4 as external pages.
The 3.7sp4 site is hosted on Windows 2008 R2 with SQL 2005 and asp.Net 4.0.  I'd like to bring the 5.x version up with SQL 2008. Is it possible to run both of these on the same server?

Has anyone out there already done this?

    Hello Sharon,

You can have both SQL servers installed on a single machine. Also you should not be having any troubles setting both sites on a single machine - you can create separate instances ( web sites ) in IIS with independent application pools.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

    All the best,
