    Hi there.

I´m having a issue with roles in sitefinity.

I have a role for clients to access the private part of the website, but what is happening is that the users that are created and associated to that role doesn´t seem to be considered has autheticated users.

They can login in my custom made user control login, but if I set a page to deny anonymous users, my user in the role "client" can´t see that page in navigation sitepanelbar even if he ahs view pages set to allow in the permissions.
The only way that sitefinity recognize my role/user is if I put in web.config

    add name="Client" permission="Unrestricted"/>

but than he gives access to everything inclusive the Cms backoffice.

Other problem that I have, is when I try to go to a page that the user logged in don´t have permission, instead of redirecting to a page defined in web.config:

    customErrors mode="RemoteOnly">

    error redirect="~/Sitefinity/nopermissions.aspx" statusCode="403"/>

    error redirect="" statusCode="400"/>

    error redirect="" statusCode="404"/>

    error redirect="" statusCode="401"/>

is going to a page like this

    Server Error in '/MyApp.Sitefinity' Application.

This type of page is not served.
Description: The type of page you have requested is not served because it has been explicitly forbidden.  The extension '.aspx' may be incorrect.   Please review the URL below and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

    Requested URL: /myapp.sitefinity/sitefinity/cmsentrypoint.aspx

I don´t understand why this his happening.

    I´m working with version sitefinity 3.6 SP1.

    Thanks in advanced

    Hello Gabriel,

Can you reproduce the problem using the standard ASP.NET login control? Could you send us the custom control you use for authentication? If you try to remove the dot from the virtual directory ( or folder) name myapp.sitefinity does this change something. The dot could mislead the way that the error is handling. As I see it you are accessing cmsentrypoint.aspx page which is quite weird.

Any additional information will be helpful.
