I am very new to sitefinity, and also very new to installing webservers running IIS.
I checked out your demo, at was very pleased with what I saw. So I downloaded the community edition, at installed it with no problems on win2003 server, so I could learn even more about it.

So far I got the application installed, and have my domainname pointed to the ip-address. But the only way I can reach the sample sites is by the address i.e. How to I setup my server, so the domain name points directly to (or any other site I might create ?

    Hello Lars Karred,

Thank you for your interest in Sitefinity and for getting in touch with us.

Actually this is quite easy. You can find detailed instructions about migrating a web site into production in our User Manual, section Migrating Projects to the Production Web Server. Just do not forget to create a new web site from the IIS whose destination folder should be the place where the content of this web site is located.

After you are done with the instructions from the User Manual, go to the properties of the Default Web Site and set the Home Directory – the same location where the site content is placed.

Hope that the provided information is helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions.

    Best wishes,
    Nikifor Hristov
