I have this set up on  http://localhost and Lightning is showing as an active module but no luck connecting.  If I type the password incorrectly I get "Error Connecting to Server"  when I put in the correct password nothing appears to happen.   I reviewed the Sitefinity error logs and found nothing.

This is a known issue concerning the connection status messages. We are working on it at the moment.
Fortunately, providing valid site URL and user credentials will connect your Lightning instance to Sitefinity in a few seconds. You can ensure this later on in the "Settings" screen.

It is good to know that there will be substantial improvements on the login screen, so expect them soon.
