I think it would be useful to log how many times a page is viewed. more than just a meta field tho (as was suggested in another post regarding counting blog post views), but rather as part of the actual sitefinity engine. the urls are stored so whenever a raw request is made and matches the url, then it should increment a counter for that specific url, so that there is an exact count for the number of times a page was viewed.

this way we could generate a "hot list" of pages that people frequently access and store them on the front page for easy access, or use them to rank sublists of pages for other applications.

    Hello SelArom,

I'm not sure that this will be really helpful, especially for people who have really big traffic to their web site. We will think about this, as well as some other criteria of counting pages - for example, page hits coming from search, pages which hold the visitors for longer time and so on.

You could create a user control that counts and stores the hits. This could be done in Page_Load for example. After you gather enough statistics, you could use our APIs to manage your pages and content, in order to display the most visited content first.

We will log this feature request and definitely discuss it.
