Styling & Templating

Building templates for Sitefinity is simple. Sitefinity CMS includes Bootstrap, Semantic UI and Foundation packages, and you can also create new ones based on your custom requirements. Sitefinity will simply inject content, fields or drag droppable regions whenever they are needed and let you control the markup. Whether you are used to working with master pages, Razor templates, MVC Layouts or Bootstrap packages, Sitefinity templating is designed with the front end developer in mind.

Front end Development

Trends in front end development might change, but one thing doesn’t–the need to innovate while using standard technologies and modern frameworks. Sitefinity gives you full access to work with HTML, CSS and JavaScript standards. You can utilize the complimentary Kendo UI Toolkit or integrate AngularJS and any other framework of your choice.

Responsive Design

All default layouts and components are designed with a mobile-first philosophy, enabling responsive design not just through code, but via the user interface as well. Sitefinity makes front end elements drag droppable. Widgets or grid layouts will be based on Bootstrap convention in a Bootstrap-based template, or Semantic UI convention in a Semantic UI-based template, or they can be completely customized to your own custom template.

Customizable Backend UI

The default widgets in Sitefinity can be configured by business users, and so can your custom widgets. Sitefinity widget designers are user-friendly backend screens that developers can build and customize. With a built-in AngularJS Framework and dozens of pre-built components to choose from, you are just a few lines of code away from giving business users a customized interface that they can reuse and configure any custom widget you provide.

Designed with DevOps in Mind

Automating delivery and integration across multiple environments increases in complexity when configuration changes such as adding a new template are manual and difficult to automate. The Sitefinity front end development framework is convention-based, all you need to do is name the files correctly and Sitefinity will take care of the configuration when it detects a new file. All templates and front end resources can be bundled in packages–folders that can be deployed across multiple environments and reused across multiple projects.
