Giertsen is a traditional Norwegian industri company, consisting of 4 separate business areas. All business areas are diverse and different from each other. Giertsen was in need for a system that could be used on all subpages for the different businesses, thow they all have different needs and structures.

An important criteria was that the managers for each department could function as webmasters, without any extensive training in Sitefinity. Sitefinity backoffice was then structured so this could be possible. W Giertsen also requested a CMS backoffice system to help them solve most of their daily challenges themselves, without contacting BITS Support.

After an presentation of the system the choice was simple.

A data-driven website developed in Microsoft .Net and SQL Server, all built within and managed by Sitefinity. Including drag and drop page editing, versioning and its flexible workflow process which ensures any site changes are delivered to those with the sign-off responsibilities.”
Web 2.0 is about listening to your end users and responding accordingly, “…no other CMS we looked at came close to this level of functionality”.

W. Giertsen has achieved more or less full technical freedom. Their admin users are now able to maintain the system and insure that relevant business information always is available to their web users.
