    Hi Guys

Is it possible have a global theme setting? So for each page you can set 'theme = global'. When you change the global theme all pages that are set at global change. Ones that have been specifically override stay the same.

    Hello Paul,

You can specify the pages theme at three levels:
    1. Web configuration
    2. Master pages
    3. Aspx Pages

So, if you want to set a global theme for the site, you should declare it in the Web.config file within the configuration/system.web section:

    <pages theme="MyGlobalTheme"></pages>

Then set Theme property of the pages to [No Theme].

Unfortunately, this wont work in Sitefinity 3.0 Beta 2, because of a bug: when you set the Theme property of the page to [No Theme], it overrides the page theme to empty string.

This issue will be fixed in the next release. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

    Regards,

    What about master pages?

Can I have a global setting for master pages?

I would like to be able to change the global master page and then my whole website changes.

For example I create a theme and want to use it on our website. I can make a single change for theme and master page. Rather than go through all pages and set the Master Page and Theme.

    Hi Paul,

    Sorry for the mistake.
It's seems I gave you wrong information about setting the Theme in the Master Pages. Actually, I wanted to say that it will be possible to set a Theme for a Sitefinity page template. This functionality will be included in the release candidate of Sitefinity 3.0. The page template is an abstraction of the master page. You can find more information about page templates and master pages in the User Manual shipped with Sitefinity 3.0 Beta 2 installation.

    Sincerely yours,
    Vlad
