    I've noticed thru sql profiler that when sitefinity first starts up, it seems to query a bunch of the sql meta data tables.  As an example:

    exec sp_executesql N'SELECT s.name AS schemaName, t.name AS tableName, c.name AS columnName, tp.name AS typeName, c.max_length, c.precision, c.scale FROM sys.tables AS t INNER JOIN sys.columns AS c ON
    t.object_id = c.object_id INNER JOIN sys.schemas AS s ON t.schema_id = s.schema_id INNER JOIN sys.types AS tp ON c.user_type_id = tp.user_type_id WHERE (s.name = @p1) AND (t.name = @p2) AND (c.name =
    @p3)',N'@p2 nvarchar(13),@p1 nvarchar(3),@p3 nvarchar(8)',@p2=N'sf_StagedPage',@p1=N'dbo',@p3=N'Modifier'

    It is running a LOT of these type of queries.  Not sure if something is wrong w/ our project or what but its really slowing us down when working remotely.  Is this normal? can we turn this off?

    This issue keeps cropping up.  We have two sites that have come to a crawl.  The front end comes up eventually but the admin is often unresponsive.

    We really need a fix for this asap.  I was contemplating using the DLLs that were mentioned in this thread for the image browsing fix:
    http://www.sitefinity.com/support/forums/support-forum-thread/b1043S-tckgk.aspx

    Would this help?  We really need something.

    THanks,
    Craig

    Hello Craig,

    This fix will be available with RC2. Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with a fix any earlier.
    Pleas make sure that your application pool does not recycle too often. If the pool is not recycled, and you still see unresponsiveness, then the reason should be something else.

    Best wishes,
    Bob

    Thanks,

    Hello Craig,

    RC2 is expected next week.
    Unfortunately, there is no way to disable this for the built-in modules.
    Do you use custom modules with Nolics, if so how many?

    The reason for this is our misunderstanding of how Nolics performs database upgrades. When you call Upgrade method on the OdbProvider, it compares the definitions of all registered dbclasses and not only for the current provider instance. Although this is an issue it should not cause such a problem unless you have lots of modules calling this method when initializing or your worker process is recycled too often. We have some really big sites operational already like www.iloveny.com and no such frustration has been reported.

    We have fixed this problem but we cannot provide you with a new version earlier as the build is still in unstable condition after the vast changes since RC1.

    Can you send us a project to investigate?

    We don't use Nolics for our O/R Mapper.  We're using Castle Project's ActiveRecord.

    The problem seems to have stabilized. As long as i'm working locally (not remotely, with the DB connection going from home to the database at work) it seems to be fine.  Also, i changed my app pool to never recycle except once a week.

    Its still a problem when working remotely i expect but i havent tried it.  I think  it was slowing down over the internet and maybe a timeout threw an error, and with enough errors maybe the app pool was recycling.  But this is all guess work on my part.

    What email address should i send to?  Support -at- sitefinity dot com ?

    Hello Craig,

    Please go to your Client.net account and click New Support Ticket. Attach the archived project and database. You can remove the RadControls folder to shorten the file.
