Hi, I was wondering how sitefinity3 handles the news items. Does it create an rss feed?

    Hello Joe,

RSS feed is temporarily removed from the news module but it should make back into the official release of Sitefinity 3.0.

    Sincerely yours,

Will that be integrated with the news items or will that be its own module?

    Hi Joe,

It will be a separate module and you will be able to use it for generic content, news, blogs, etc.

    Kind regards,

    Hello Joe,

The official release is scheduled for the end of April. Upgrading from the current RC edition should not bring about any problems. Full upgrade instructions will be available in the Sitefinity User Manual.

Ok, so I've created my newsitem, created a news list on the home page, and created a news page with a single news item. I've pointed the news list control to the news page that has the news item on it. The news items are showing up on the news list control, but when i click on them, it doesn't redirect me to the news item. Can anyone help??

When you hover over the more>> link for each news item in the newslist in live site mode, does the url accurately reflect the location of the individual new item? We have implemented this and it seems to works fine.

    this is the url

    Common/Templates/News/News/07-00-01/test.aspx

07-00-01 is the publish date and test is the title.

Yeah so i've tried everything. I keep getting a .net error saying that the file or folder has been deleted or moved. The url that is being created isn't pointing to the news page that i have created.

The only way i can get the single news item to show anything is to click on properties and manually select an article id, but that makes it static so that it will only show 1 article

You shouldn't have to do that.

So you have a two pages named news.aspx? On ours we have news.aspx and then newsItem.aspx for the individual news items. newsItem.aspx is a sub page underneath news.aspx which is under company.aspx. The SingleNewsPage property on the newslist is set to ~/company/news/newsItem.aspx. the output url is http://localhost/company/news/newsItem/[date]/[title].aspx

It really looks like this property is not set properly in your case.

    Hi Joe,

Make sure you have set the SingleNewsPage property of NewsList control correctly. The URL should start with “~”, something like this:” ~/AboutUs/ShowArticle.aspx”. ShowArticle.aspx should contain SingleNews control. Check if the page containing the SingleNews control opens manually.

    Best wishes,
    Bob
