I created various user roles and users to test the functionality of workflow for authors, approvers, publishers. What I thing it can be more clear are the buttons that are enabled or disabled, since approve - decline - publish have the same grey color even one user has no right to approve a page.

This also is confusing since when an author can go to link on pages for approval and checking the pages there to press button Approve or Decline (with no result) while it shouldn't be available such options.

Also I couldn't find the history who and when "approver" approves some pages. In a scenario with various approvers for various sections this should be traceable.

    Hello Vagelis,

Thank you very much for drawing our attention to this workflow issue. We completely agree with you that users who are not granted the proper permissons should not be able to see the buttons when they go to the All Pages link. We will fix this for the official release.

Also, we think that having the sort of workflow history you suggest will be very useful. We have logged this feature request in our system.

    Sincerely yours,
    Rebecca

I am having a problem with the content that editors edit using the generic content and news modules going live without approval.  It only seems to happen when the administrator sets up the page and the generic content, then the editor logs in and makes a change.

It seems to me that the editors change to the content should not go live without being approved.

Please advise me if I am doing something wrong.

Yes, James, you are absolutely right about that. We are currently working on content workflow. It will be included in the official release of Sitefinity 3.0.

User rights again. While a user has no rights on edit templates he can duplicate (create) or delete them.

    Hi Vagelis,

The only thing that is currently implemented to do with templates users rights is the ModifyLayout permission. When it is set to Deny, the user does not see te Templates and Themes dropdowns when in Edit Page mode.

We are still working on permissions for templates: the rights to create, delete, edit and duplicate templates. These will be available in the official release of Sitefinity 3.0.

    Kind regards,
    Rebecca
