    Hi!

Can you explain the bug with categories? When I want to see generic content of subcategory I clicked on It and all works fine. But when I clik on root category of my subcategory I can't see any content. It says that there is no content in this category.

    Hello Paul,

This is a known issue. Due to the way Categories are implemented in Sitefinity and the inability of Nolics to emit "or" clauses, it is not achievable. In order to do this, we will have to do a major (and incompatible with previous versions) rewrite of categories.

Since we are doing a major rewrite for 4.0, this issue will be left as it is until then. Besides, we are planning on a lot more flexible data categorizing schema (taxonomies).

I am sorry for the inconvenience this will cause you.

    Regards,

    Hi Dido!

Thanks for explanation. I found some temporarly decision for me: when you click on root category and can't see any items you need click search and items will be shown.

    Hi Paul,

Thank you for your information. However, this is not achievable by the API; at least not without writing custom SQL queries or changing how helper classes work. This will defeat the purpose of using Nolics and would be a pain to maintain for all supported database engines.

The SP1 is out, so you can check it out! We wouldn't mind nice feature suggestions for 4.0. We will have them in mind. If we like them, but don't have enough time to implement them for 4.0, we will implement them in the consequent 4.x releases.

    Sincerely yours,
    Dido
