    Hi all,

    I was able to edit page content in Sitefinity for the past 2-3 months with no problem. We are sing the standard edition, and didn’t purchase the licence yet.  Since yesterday., I am not able to edit the page contents (i.e, add controls to the page or edit the static content).  However, I am still able to add pages and upload user controls.  Also, my colleagues at work is able to o do all editing with no problem (we are using the same SQL 2005 back end).  Any advice of what could be my issue?

    Regards

    AS

    Hello Ahmed,

    If your collegue can edit the page content, seems the problem is in your PC. Do you get any errors? Is the problem persists using different browsers. Do you have js enabled?

    Thanks Ivan for the reply.

    I don’t get any errors. The content of the page is greyed out in “Edit mode”, and I am not able to drag and drop any control, or even get the edit tab when mouse hover over the page content.  I have only tried it using IE7. I don’t recall I made any update to my PC settings lately. I have js enabled.

    Hello Ahmed,

    Try switching to Classic mode if you are using Overlay mode.

    Hello Ahmed,

    In the overlay mode there is a div over your place holders.

    The problem you have is due to space between closing tags of a contentplace holders under your master page. The space is resolved as div and under overlay mode the problem arise.

    Try using the following declaration.

    <asp:contentplaceholder id="Content" runat="server"></asp:contentplaceholder>

    or better

    <asp:contentplaceholder id="Content" runat="server"/>
