So here's the deal. We have installed the latest version (SP4) of Sitefinity 3.7 into the staging server (We're about to deploy wee!) and migrated our project. The project was made with SP1, everything works well. But since of course upgrades are vital, we decided to use the patch that can be downloaded from your site to upgrade our SP1 project to SP4.

After merging the files and careful edits to the web.config file, we reloaded the site and voila! Errors!

Here's the initial error about Telerik.Framework:

    Server Error in '/' Application.

    Configuration Error

Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'Telerik.Framework' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded.

    Source Error:

    Line 128: </eventMappings>
    Line 129: <providers>
    Line 130: <add name="Simple Web Event Provider" type="Telerik.Utilities.TextFileWebEventProvider,Telerik.Framework" logFileName="~/App_Data/sitefinity.log"/>
    Line 131: <add name="Simple Web Buffered Event Provider" type="Telerik.Utilities.BufferedTextFileWebEventProvider,Telerik.Framework" bufferMode="Notification" logFileName="~/App_Data/sitefinity.log"/>
    Line 132: <add name="Code Benchmark Provider" type="Telerik.Utilities.CodeBenchmarkTextFileProvider,Telerik.Framework" enabled="False" logFileName="~/App_Data/performance.log"/>

Thanks for your help as always. More power :)

UPDATE: Hi I realized I downloaded the patch with different framework hence the error. Repeated steps with correct patch files and I got it working! Here are however two immediate issues I encountered.

    1. Can no longer use System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement namespace. We need to use this for custom membership (login via domain account).
    2. Why are the page groups not redirecting to their respective first child page?

Hope you can clarify ASAP, we are pressed with time. Thanks :)

    Hello jkregala,

1.System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement Namespace  is available if you use .NET 3.5 or 4.0

    2. I am not able to replicate this issue. You can make some test with demo.sitefinity.com

    1. Ok, will check.
    2. For the telerik university sample, if in case we want to market "www.demo.sitefinity.com/ADMISSIONS" as the URL for the admissions section, we want it to be redirected to that section. In the previous SP, typing that would lead to the first page under Admissions section. But now, you have to type Admissions.aspx just to be able to access it.

    Hello jkregala,

Generally accessing the urls without extension is possible if you have extensionless urls( UserManual, page 199) enabled, otherwise the page is processed with .aspx extension.
