    Hello,

    I am trying to map the generic content editor to an extended template so I can change the AllowScripts attribute on the Rad Editor but am having problems. Note: we need to change this for the admin and not public site. I followed the directions in this KB article: http://www.sitefinity.com/devnet/kb/sitefinity-3-x/how-to-map-a-view-to-an-external-template-in-sitefinity-3-6-or-later.aspx but the template is not being used, the default embedded one is used.

    My Telerik.Sitefinity.Configuration.ControlsConfig.xml file looks like the following:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <controlsConfig>
        <viewMap>
            <!-- Edits a generic content item -->
            <viewSettings hostType="Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls.Admin.ContentItemEdit`1[[Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls.Admin.ContentItemsView, Telerik.Cms.Engine]], Telerik.Cms.Engine"
             layoutTemplatePath="~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/Generic_Content/ContentEditView.ascx">
            </viewSettings>
        </viewMap>
    </controlsConfig>

    I found in another article (I believe by Ivan) that the 3.6 hotfix needs to be applied for this to work so I downloaded and installed Sitefinity_3_6_1870_standard_patch.zip and still no luck.

    I have to say that this is quite a production to simply change one attribute on an editor - especially considering this attribute is a very common request I would expect it to be configurable via Sitefinity.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you,
    Ryan

    Hello James,

    Thank you for using our services.

    The control template you have mapped is for the Generic Content Module edit item view. If you are trying to map the template for the Generic Content control in the Sitefinity toolbox you should map ~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/Generic_Content/GenericContentDesigner.ascx. And then restart the website, changes in template mappings are not applied until you restart the website.

    Best wishes,
