We have a client that was getting a continuous error of  'Item not found: [Sitefinity] 524498e9-b23c-4936-92d4-dadff329107f' is not a valid virtual path. We finally discovered that the error was being caused by a page that had been reordered in the menu but this page was showing an older link to it.

Does this mean that everytime we use a Sitefinity url to link between pages, that if the page order changes then we need to go back through the pages and restablish a new link?  If so this would be very time consuming and cause us and the client to lose confidence in the CMS. Is there a fix to this problem?

    Please advise.

    Hello gohigher,

This could happen if you declare the link directly. The link is resolved by the provider and then the relative path is returned. You could get the error if this page has been removed and then recreated which has generated a new ID. If the ID is the same the link should not be broken. I attached a sample video that proves this. If you use an older version, please upgrade to 3.7 SP3.

    Best wishes,
