I couldn't find where this has been reported, but I'm having the following problem.

I create a link like the following.

    Program Basics
    That points to <a href="~/Chapter2_Getting_Started/Program_Basics.aspx" sfref="~/Chapter2_Getting_Started/Program_Basics.aspx">Program Basics</a>

After inserting the link I then apply Bold to the link. I now decide to edit and change the path of the link. Now the link text appears as:

    Program Baundefinedsics

and the actual link in source is now:
    <a href="~/Chapter2_Getting_Started/Program_Basics.aspx" sfref="~/Chapter2_Getting_Started/Program_Basics.aspx"><strong>Program Ba<a href="http://myaddress/help/sitefinity/admin/~/Chapter2_Getting_Started/Program_Basics/Filter_Screen.aspx" sfref="~/Chapter2_Getting_Started/Program_Basics/Filter_Screen.aspx" originalPath="~/Chapter2_Getting_Started/Program_Basics/Filter_Screen.aspx" originalAttribute="href">undefined</a><a href="~/Chapter2_Getting_Started/Program_Basics.aspx" sfref="~/Chapter2_Getting_Started/Program_Basics.aspx">sics</a></strong></a>

I've tested this over and over with the same results. This also happens using Italics. It also is a problem when sometimes the text is surrounded by <p></p> and the link tag wraps around the <p></p> instead of inserting inside it.

    Hi Jeremy Wadsworth,

Is this happening in all modules? Have you made any changes in the control templates, where the RadEditor resides? There is a ContentFilter there, which should parse these links in a proper way.

We are looking forward for your reply.

Thanks for your reply. I just reproduced this behavior on your Sitefinity - Telerik International University demo site.

    I logged in and
    1. went to the Academics>Course Schedule page.
    2. Edit page
    3. Applied Bold to the link "Majors".
    4. Right click "Majors" and edit link properties
    5. Changed the link to point to internal page "About Us"
    6. Clicked "Insert"

Link text now says "MajoAbout Usrs"

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

I found another bug related. If you apply underline to some text, then later select the text and turn it into a link, and if you then try to edit that link later, it gets hosed in the same manner.

    Hello Jeremy Wadsworth,

I found a way to reproduce this issue.

It is actually happening if you apply a style (bold, italic etc) on a part of the link. Then when you click on Set Link Properties, you do not get the original link values in the hyperlink editor. I have attached a screenshot, can you confirm you receive this too?

If you apply a style on the whole link, you should not have the problem. This is the only workaround that I could suggest you at the moment. You can also try to select the link first (by highlighting it), then right click -> Set properties.

    Best wishes,
    Georgi

The screenshot you showed is what appeared for me anytime the link got broken. I'm not sure what you mean by "part of the link". If I go to the Telerik International University demo site right now and edit a page. I can carefully select all of a link, apply bold, then immediately right click to edit, and the link is now broken.

I believe I have figured this out. Lets just talk about Bold for the sake of simplicity.

If you first apply Bold before making text a link. There are no problems. This is because when set the link after applying Bold, the <a> tags are inserted inside of the <em> tags such as
    <em><a href="http://somelink.com">My Link</a></em>

If however, you select an existing link and apply Bold to it, the <em> tags are inserted inside the <a> tags such as
<a href="http://somelink.com"><em>My Link</em></a>. It appears that the link editor doesn't like anything inside the <a> tags besides the text of the link. I have come across the same issue when a <br> got inserted after the linktext and before the </a> such as
    <a href="http://somelink.com">My Link<br /></a>

    Hi Jeremy Wadsworth,

I will contact the RadControls team, and will see what could be improved in our dialogs regarding this issue. It is now logged for fixing.

I have updated your Telerik account.

I wanted to add to this issue that I have found that the same problem exists if a link resides in a bulleted list.

    Hi Jeremy Wadsworth,

The problem is the same as with the styled links.
We are going to release a service pack in the end of March. Hopefully we will manage to fix these issues.
