    Hello,

    The links created by the RSS provider are not pointing to our domain correctly.  Our domain is formatted like this "http://devenvironment.domain.net".  When the RSS provider creates a link for a news item the url gets rewritten to this "http://devenvironment.domain/08-11-28/articlename.aspx".  The RSS provider is removing the .net portion of the url and is causing an "Address Not Found" error.  Are there any solutions to this?

    Thanks.
    -Drew

    Hi,

    We tried to simulate this locally and by mapping a domain name to the localhost ip address. Both cases worked as expected. The domain we tried with  was http://localhost.dev.net.

    Could you please elaborate on your settings?

    Sincerely yours,
    Georgi

    Hello,

    We are still experiencing this issue with our rss feeds.  Can you please give me an email address so that I can send you our dev environment url and a set of login credentials?  If you could please look at our rss feeds, I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    -Drew

    I am experiencing the same thing... the URL of the title is showing the computer name (locally) instead of the external domain name. Is this a setting in web.config or something?

    Hello,

    Do you have two projects pointed to a one database?
    I have tried the scenario both on Sitefinity 3.5, and Sitefinity 3.6 but didn't encounter the error. What is the version you use?

    I just used the blank project from the Web site... we had this on our dev server before we made it live, though. But it is the only Sitefinity site pointing to this DB. Using version 3.5 SP1 I believe.

    This particular project is using 3.2 I believe.  Yeah, it's a little dated...  We only point 1 website to each database.  Again, if you could provide me with an e-mail address I would gladly give you access to our dev environment so that you can see it first hand.

    Thanks,
    -Drew

    Hi Georgi ,

    I sent you an e-mail, can you please verify that you have received the e-mail.  I sent it about 1.5 - 2 weeks ago.  My e-mail address is dengelmeyer@priorityresults.com, just in case you have search your spam folder.  If possible, could you please take a look at this issue within a week or two?  Our client plans on going live in a couple of weeks.

    Thanks,
    -Drew

    Hi Drew,

    Thank you for the follow up.
    I have saw the e-mail, it was indeed in the spam folder for some reason. We have blacklisted your domain now. I will take a look, and will answer to you in the beginning of the next week.

    I apologize for the inconvenience.

    Hi Drew,

    I finally begin my work on the project.

    The only way that I can reproduce the problem locally, is if I specify a wrong page for the page, holding the news article. I went though all scenarios - page groups, subpages, and when I set a page that does not exist, or simply leave the Article Page field empty, the .net extension is stripped.

    Then I saw that the page you are using exists, but it is locked by Admin, so I do not know if it contains a NewsView control or not. Please try these steps:

    1. Make sure that the page contains NewsView control;
    2. Make sure that the web config UrlRewriteFormat properties are the same:
    <cmsEngine defaultProvider="Generic_Content"
          <providers>
            <clear/>
            <add name="News" urlRewriteFormat="[Publication_Date]/[Title].aspx" ...

    and:
    <news defaultGenericProvider="News"
          <genericContentProviders>
            <add providerName="News"
                 urlRewriteFormat="[Publication_Date]/[Title].aspx"
                 ...
          </genericContentProviders>

    I am looking forward for your reply, and I am sure that we will solve the problem.

    All the best,
    Georgi

    I am working with Drew on this.

    I have confirmed that the page contains NewsView control and that the web config UrlRewriteFormat properties are the same.

    What is our next move?

    Hi Angel Hidalgo,

    Can you please let us know which version you are using? The Rss service is working as expected in the latest release. We have improved it since the 3.5 versions.
