    Hi

I'm finding that after adding new news articles my NewsArchive control doesn't update to reflect new counts. The only time it updates is by doing an iisreset. Is this a known problem?

    I'm using SF 3.6 SP2.

    Regards

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

Actually it is not a bug. It is by design. NewsArchive inherits from ContentArchive which uses CacheItemPriority Enumeration to cache the dates. The items appears only when you reset iis ( you can do a dummy change in your web.config as well) or wait for 24 hours.

    All the best,

Thanks for the quick response. Is there any way to configure the expiry to a lower value? And would doing so affect any other areas of Sitefinity?

    thanks again

    Hi Andrew,

There is no setting in the web.config that could control the NewsArchive behavior. I checked the methods where CacheItemPriority is set, but they are private and cannot be overridden.

    Best wishes,
