    Hi,

    I have a problem with SiteMenu control to respond Keyboard events.  For example, My Menu contains Home, AboutUs, ContactUs as top level nodes and each node contains 3 sub items.  If I click on Home tab and move the mouse to 2nd sub item under ‘Home’ and press ‘Enter Key’ nothing is happening.  Up/Down arrow keys also not working to navigate from 2nd sum item to 3rd sub item under Home tab.

    Please guide me to resolve this issue.   In addition to this I have a requirement to change the background color of the sum items when user navigates with Up/Down arrow keys (like Mouse over functionality).

    Thanks,

           RK

    Hi Rama,

    What about if you use [TAB] key for forward and SHIFT+[TAB] for backward? Check out the following article Keyboard Support. You could move between items using the arrows.

    As for the background, here is an example:

    .rmGroup .rmLink:hover,
    .rmGroup .rmFocused,
    .rmGroup .rmExpanded
        backgroundblack
        coloryellow;
        font-weightnormal

    .rmFocused, applies to the item's anchor when it is focused.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Dimitrov,

    Thanks for your updates.  The article you referred is about hardcoded Menu control.   Setting 'AccessKeys' is an added advantage to my App.  My QA team logged an issue about ‘Enter’ and Up/Down arrow keys usage in Menu navigation.

    Just I want to repeat my requirement here. My Application contains following Menu structure.

    Home > Item-H1

               Item-H2

               Item-H3

    About Us > Item-A1

                 > Item-A2

                 > Item-A3

    Contact Us > Item-C1

                   >  Item-C2

                   >  Item-C3

    If I move the mouse on ‘About Us’ > ‘Item-A2’ (with out using ant ‘TAB’ key) and press ‘Enter’ it should navigate to related page (like any browser default functionality), but nothing is happening here.   Please confirm whether RadMenu supporting this feature or not?

    For the background it’s working fine in FireFox but not working in IE6.

    The syntax I am using is

    .rmSlide .rmLevel1 .rmItem .rmLink:focus{background:#cc0000 url("images/arr_rt.gif") no-repeat 5% 60%; color:#fff; font-size:1.1em; padding:0.5em 0 0.5em 1.5em; padding:6px 0 6px 18px; border-bottom:1px solid #ccc; display:block;}

    Please give your suggestions.

    Thanks,

          RK

    Hello Rama,

    The functionality which you require for RadMenu is available by default. We will need a live url or a sample demo to find out why you experience problems with this.

    As for the other question, you can try using the FocusedCssClass property of the menu items. For example:

    <style type="text/css">
    .Focused
    {
    background: red !important;
    }
    </style>

    <telerik:RadMenuItem runat="server" FocusedCssClass="Focused" Text="Child RadMenuItem 2">
    </telerik:RadMenuItem>
