    Hello all, please bare with me if this is easy, I've only been playing with Sitefinity for a few hours now.

    Right now I'm playing around with the JobsIntraSite sample that shipped with the community version.  The method to recreate the exception is:
    Modules->News->Create News
    Give it a title and some content, I use "EXTRA EXTRA" as the title and "Made you look" as the content
    Create this news item
    Administration->Rss Feeds->Create new feed
    Fill in part 1 of the form with Test Feed, This is a test feed, ~/news.rss, ~/Home.aspx
    News Rss Provider
    Fill in part 2 of the form with All news, ~/Jobs.aspx, 15, Full article
    Create this feed
    it returns to the Rss Feeds section
    Click on the news.rss link for the new feed.
    Server Error: "Cannot assign link to unexisting item. (Forget to call Create?)"

    If I then go create another news item and return to the Rss Feeds section the news.rss link still throws the same exception.  I'm sure that it's something I've missed in the installing process, but I don't quite know what.

    Hi Matt,

    Please, try to save your news again (Modules -> News) and after that click the RSS link (~/news.rss). We suppose that the database of the JobsIntraSite is not completely upgraded and that causes the described behavior.

    Let us know how it goes.

    Hmmm, now the rss link is giving me a 404, but I've rebooted a few times since the other error, I wonder, could this be a permissions issue when trying to create the file?  On a hunch I gave asp write access to the virtual directory, but it didn't seem to help.

    It is likely that the sample did indeed have some upgrading issues.  I just started a blank site and repeated the steps and it worked perfectly.

    Hello Matt,

    Probably you get the 404 exception due to the fact that you do not have .rss mapping for the IIS virtual directory. This mapping should be added by default for the Sitefinity projects but somehow it seems it was not applied for the Jobs sample. Anyway, to add it, you should right-click the project in IIS and point to Properties. Then click on Configuration > Add. Specify the path to the aspnet_isapi.dll, specify that it should be applied for the .rss extension and be sure to remove the check from "Check that file exists" option.

    Hope this helps.

    Best wishes,
