    Hello,

I've implemented search functionality in my site, and indexed all pages and news. But I don't get any results if I type only part of a word.

For example, if I have the word "sitefinity" on a page, that page doesn't come up in search results if I search for "site". It comes up in search only if I search for -exactly- "sitefinity".

Is there a way to fix this?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello Kutay,

Yes - you can do this by following the instructions in the forum thread - Wildcard Search.
This should allow you to accomplish exactly what you need.

    I hope this helps you.

    Hello,

    It worked, thank you.

There's a problem though... If I search for "site", it brings me pages which have "sitefinity" in it, which is correct.

But in the ResultStats part, it says "0 pages found for the term "site""...

So, it brings the results, but says that no results were found...

    Any ideas?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello Kutay,

I cannot reproduce the problem on my computer. Please make sure you have done the following step:
    4. Replace your old Search Result control with the new CustomSearchResult located in the Most popular section of the toolbox. Set the EscapeSpecialChars property to False.

I suppose that the problem can be related to SearchResult template (located at  ~\Sitefinity\ControlTemplates\Search\SearchResult.ascx).
Try to test with the original SearchResult template (I have attached it in this post). Make sure you backup your custom SearchResult.ascx template. If you have any issues, send us your SearchResult.ascx template so we can reproduce the problem on our side.

    I hope this helps you.

I did exactly as you said in your post, and I rechecked all of it. I  replaced the Search Result control, and set the EscapeSpecialChars property to false.

I used the template that you sent me. Actually, mine was the same, but the words were in Turkish. Nothing else different...

I can send you a screenshot if you give an e-mail address.

    Thank you.

    Hi Kutay,

I am sorry but I cannot reproduce the problem locally.
Can you try to use the original SearchResult control again. Just replace the CustomSearchResult control with the SearchResult (from the Search toolbox section) and set its EscapeSpecialChars to false.

I hope this will help you.

    Best wishes,

    Hello,

I've tried replacing the CustomSearchResult control with the SearchResult , set its EscapeSpecialChars property to false... I'm still getting "0 results found for 'site'". The only difference is that this time, there are really no results. So, no matter which search result control I use, I get the "0 results found" label.

    Any other ideas?

    Thank you.

    Hi Kutay,

Can you please provide us with the SearchResult control and its template. We are not able to reproduce the problem so far.
