Hello, I recently ran an update script that changed the author of a lot of generic content, and it caused some funny behavior. Now when I go into the Sitefinity administrative section, I see the new author (IMG-Import-Wave1-Locked) on the main screen, but when I click edit, I see the old author (IMG-Import). This is for the same content item. I went in the database and verified that this content item only has one row for Author in the sf_GCMetaData table.

Is there somewhere else this value needs to be changed besides sf_GCMetaData?

The update script I ran is below.

--Update the author where the current author is 'IMG-Import' and the category is 'Purchase'
    UPDATE dbo.sf_GCMetaData
SET ShortText = 'IMG-Import-Wave1-Locked' --New Author value.
    WHERE keyvalue = 'Author'
AND ShortText = 'IMG-Import' --Old Author value.
    AND (SELECT TOP 1 1 FROM dbo.sf_GCMetaData G
    WHERE G.ContentID = dbo.sf_GCMetaData.ContentID
    AND KeyValue = 'Category'
    AND ShortText = 'Purchase') = 1   --Category

    Thank you,

    Scott

    Hi Scott ,

You can check the table that stores version data table - [sf_VrsTxtData]

I just looked in this table and it shows 2 versions. Version 1 has the old author. Version 2 has the new author. This table looks correct, but the UI does not. Any other suggestions?

    Hi Scott,

If the content is published and you change the  metakey value from the database you should see the correct changes in the publushed content. I am sending you a short sample video.
